BiH Presidency Member from Republika Srpska Nebojša Radmanović received the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to BiH, Angelo Angelov
At the beginning of the meeting, BiH Presidency Member Radmanović expressed his condolences and compassion with the families of the victims of yesterday’s terrorist attack on Israeli tourists at the airport of Sarafovo in the Bulgarian resort of Burgas, when in the bus explosion several people died and a number of them were wounded. BiH Presidency Member Radmanović expressed hope that the security services of the Republic of Bulgaria will react swiftly and discover perpatrators of this terrorist act, and that the bodies in charge will punish the perpetrators accordingly.
BiH Presidency Member Radmanović welcomed Ambassador Angelov to BiH and wished his success in his work. He also expressed justified expectation that his work will be successful bearing in mind traditionally good and friendly relations of the two states. Radmanović reiterated to the Ambassador Angelov the invitation to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevnelijev pay an official return visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he personally conveyed during the recent bilateral meeting at the margins of the Summit of Heads of State of South East Europe Cooperation Process in Belgrade.
Ambassador Angelov informed BiH Presidency Radmanović that Bulgaria plans to organise a business forum in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at which mutual possibilities of economic investment will be considered and agreement on economic cooperation between the two states will be signed. As one of perspective possibilities for mutual improvement of inter-state connections in this region, Ambassador suggested the revival of the waterways on the rivers of Sava and the Danube, among the states of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Bulgaria, which would contribute to furthering of economic exchange of these states. Moreover, two agreements on cooperation in the fields of culture and science between the two states are being prepared.
BiH Presidency Member Radmanović informed Ambassador Angelov about the current political situation in BiH related to the implementation of the obligations from the so-called “Road Map”, agreed recently in Brussels, at the high level meeting between BiH and the EU, as well as the process of government reconstruction in BiH, which is ongoing at various levels of government. He reiterated his earlier position that there is a kind of disillusion and weariness with regards to the question of further accession of the remaining states of the Western Balkans to the EU, which sets and maintains artificial internal boundaries within the EU itself.
