Džaferović: The State of Serbia has officially and systemically offended the Kapija victims of Tuzla
The promotion of “The Tuzla’s Kapija – a staged tragedy” book by Ilija Branković, organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, is yet another offense against the families of the girls and boys who were killed at Tuzla’s Kapija, and against all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina alike.

Parallel to this, Serbia and its
institutions are sending a clear message that they have officially supported both
the systemic denial of the crimes committed, and the protection of the
sentenced war criminals.
Let us remind ourselves of the fact
that, for years now, Serbia has provided a refuge for VRS general Novak Đukić,
sentenced before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the crimes committed
at Tuzla’s Kapija.
Protecting the sentenced war
criminal, denying his misdeeds, and offending the families of the innocent
young people he killed are primarily anti-civilizational acts, but also the acts
by which Serbia has been undermining further its relations with BiH.
The peak of cynicism is that the
book launch concerned is held during the visit of the main Hague prosecutor
Serge Brammertz, who has just stated at the meeting with Aleksandar Vučić,
President of Serbia that he was dissatisfied with the regional cooperation.
In my capacity of the Presidency
member, I will insist that the policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within the
Revised Strategy for Processing of War Crimes in BiH, gets precisely defined concerning
the regional cooperation and finding ways to ensure that the criminals who
escape to the neighbouring countries do face justice.
