Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Member of the BiH Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović laid flowers and paid respect to Professor Nijaz Duraković at the graveyard of the Alipaša mosque in Sarajevo.

As part of intensive activities with the aim of opening negotiations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union, member of the BiH Presidency, Dr Denis Bećirović also spoke with the Ambassador of the Republic of France to BiH François Delmas.

Member of BiH Presidency Dr Bećirović welcomed Minister Dvořák, pointing out that bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic are good and friendly, with no open questions.

The members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina expressed their gratitude to the president of the European Commission and the prime minister of the Netherlands for the visit, which confirms the commitment to the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They informed the interlocutors about the progress that Bosnia and Herzegovina has achieved and the efforts that have been made in order to fulfil the prerequisites for further progress on the European path. In this light, they emphasized the extreme importance of the next step on the European path and expressed the expectation that the European Commission will give a positive opinion and recommendation, based on which the European Council will make a decision on the start of negotiations on the accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union.

On this occasion, Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cvijanović, informed the interlocutor about the position and views of Republika Srpska and its representatives at the state level.

In relation to the publication of incomplete information that the member of BiH Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović wants to "remove BiH judge" at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, we are obliged to present the complete facts to the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina:

On this occasion, the interlocutors exchanged opinions on current political topics in Europe and the world, important regional issues, as well as the possibilities of strengthening cooperation between Belarus and all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the meaningful and friendly conversation, Ambassador Fitschen pointed out that the voice of Dr Denis Bećirović is highly respected in Berlin and that he is one of the most important interlocutors of the Federal Republic of Germany. This is evidenced by the recent conversations which Dr Bećirović had with the leaders of the Federal Republic of Germany. German ambassador said that the Federal Republic of Germany will continue to support our country and that it remains one of the main proponents of the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Thomas Fischen, emphasized that his country's support for Bosnia and Herzegovina is unquestionable.

Joint session of the Council for Foreign Policy and the Council for Economic Affairs was held at the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Dr Denis Bećirović, which was attended by respected academicians, ambassadors and diplomats, university professors and journalists. The session discussed certain foreign policy issues, as well as current and strategic issues in the field of economy that are under jurisdiction of BiH Presidency.

Serb member of BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović arrived on a two-day visit to Uganda, where she will participate in the 19th summit of heads of state and governments of the Non-Aligned Movement countries in Kampala, as a representative of a country observer.
