It was with profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of His Majesty King Harald V. On behalf of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest condolences to the Royal Family and the people of the Kingdom of Norway.
King
Harald devoted his life to serving his country and his people, fulfilling his
duties with dignity, wisdom and a profound sense of responsibility. Bosnia and
Herzegovina will remember with particular gratitude his contribution to
friendship and understanding between our two countries and peoples.
With
special emotion, we recall His Majesty's visit to Sarajevo for the opening of
the 1984 Winter Olympic Games, a historic event that continues to hold a
special place in the memory of our people.
At
this time of profound sorrow for the Kingdom of Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina
stands with the Norwegian people and shares their grief over the loss of a
respected monarch and a true friend.
