Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Denis Bećirović organised a formal reception for representatives of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OKBiH) and members of the Olympic team from the XVII Summer Olympics in Paris

The reception was attended by academician Izet Rađo, president of the OKBiH, Dr Said Fazlagić, Secretary General of the OKBiH; judo athletes Larisa Cerić and Aleksandra Samardžić, their coaches Dr Branislav Crnogorac and Arijana Jaha; athlete Mesud Pezer and his coach Mehmed Skender; swimmer Lana Pudar and her manager Damir Đedović, and the official photographer of the OKBiH Sanjin Hakalović.

According to the head of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this is the first reception of the Olympic Committee and Olympians of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the conversation, the Olympians thanked the Chairman of the Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović for the concrete support he gave them in preparation for going to the XVII Summer Olympics. As a sign of support for the competitors and BiH Olympic Committee, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Dr Denis Bećirović, just before the start of the Olympic competitions, visited the Olympic Village in Paris and talked with our Olympians.

During the formal reception in the building of BiH Presidency, Dr Bećirović thanked the Bosnian athletes for representing their homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Olympic Games with dignity. He added that the very fact that our athletes met the Olympic standard indicates that they are in the company of the world's best competitors. It is imperative that Bosnia and Herzegovina build strong state institutions, successful and efficient sports federations and a well-organized system of competition in all sports, and to overcome political blockades that aim to prevent the financing of BiH sports, and thus Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to success, said Dr Bećirović.

Chairman of BiH Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović emphasized that athletes are ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world, and that it is necessary to find system solutions that will enable the preservation and development of BiH sports.
