During
the conversation, the Olympians thanked the Chairman of the Presidency Dr Denis
Bećirović for the concrete support he gave them in preparation for going to the
XVII Summer Olympics. As a sign of support for the competitors and BiH Olympic
Committee, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Dr Denis Bećirović, just before
the start of the Olympic competitions, visited the Olympic Village in Paris and
talked with our Olympians.
During
the formal reception in the building of BiH Presidency, Dr Bećirović thanked
the Bosnian athletes for representing their homeland Bosnia and Herzegovina at
the Olympic Games with dignity. He added that the very fact that our athletes
met the Olympic standard indicates that they are in the company of the world's
best competitors. It is imperative that Bosnia and Herzegovina build strong
state institutions, successful and efficient sports federations and a
well-organized system of competition in all sports, and to overcome political
blockades that aim to prevent the financing of BiH sports, and thus Bosnia and
Herzegovina on the path to success, said Dr Bećirović.
Chairman
of BiH Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović emphasized that athletes are ambassadors
of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world, and that it is necessary to find system
solutions that will enable the preservation and development of BiH sports.
