Serb member and Chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović met today in Brussels with the newly appointed President of the European Council António Costa

During the meeting, the activities realized so far were discussed and the future steps that are necessary for the further progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European path.


The Serb member and Chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cvijanović, expressed her determination to fulfil her obligations, exclusively through the agreement and action of domestic representatives and with the support and pragmatic approach of the European Union.

She emphasized that all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be included in the process of European integration, in accordance with the constitutional structure and the rules and principles of the agreed coordination mechanism.

Cvijanović pointed out that it is unacceptable for an individual foreigner to act above democratically elected institutions, in defiance the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and European legislation.

She expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the agreements of domestic political actors are being destroyed by certain foreign interventions.

On this occasion, the Serb member and Chair of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović congratulated the interlocutor on his appointment and wished him success in performing his important and responsible duties.
