Member of the Presidency of BiH, Dr Denis Bećirović, spoke with the Presiding Arbitrator of the Arbitral Tribunal for Dispute over the Inter-Entity Boundary in the Brčko Area, Ambassador John Clint Williamson.

Bećirović informed Ambassador Williamson about the current attack on the
constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the fundamental provisions
of the Dayton Peace Agreement by the leadership of the BiH entity of Republika
Srpska. He emphasized that this represents a direct threat to peace and
stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. He emphasized that peace
and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina can only be preserved by protecting the
sovereignty and constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as by
stopping the anti-Dayton and anti-constitutional actions of the leadership of
the BiH entity of Republika Srpska.

of the Presidency of BiH, Dr Denis Bećirović, said that the Brčko District of Bosnia
and Herzegovina, as a unique administrative unit of local self-government, plays
an important role in preserving peace and stability. He added that the Brčko
District of Bosnia and Herzegovina is of particular importance for the
protection of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina at a time of the greatest
security crisis since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Bećirović reminded that the only military forces allowed to be present on the
territory of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the Armed Forces
of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the military forces of NATO and the EU. He said
that the leaders of the RS are irresponsible and threatening armed violence and
that they must be decisively stopped.

Williamson highlighted that he came to visit because of the new situation in
Bosnia and Herzegovina. Everyone must respect the status of the Brčko District
of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is under the exclusive sovereignty of the
state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is important to respect the status of the
Brčko District of BiH in accordance with the provisions of the Final
Arbitration Award. He also called for careful action and avoidance of any
measures that threaten the status of the Brčko District of BiH.
