Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr Denis Bećirović, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Manahan M.P. Sitompul, on his inaugural visit

Dr Bećirović welcomed Ambassador Sitompul and expressed his readiness to improve bilateral cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Indonesia.

Ambassador Sitompul conveyed the support of the government and people of the Republic of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing that the Republic of Indonesia remains committed to preserving peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also reiterated his firm support for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dr Bećirović informed his interlocutor about the attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the leadership of the Bosnian and Herzegovina entity of RS, which is a direct threat to the peace, security and progress of all citizens and peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that such irresponsible and dangerous policies carry with them incalculable consequences, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the entire region.

He highlighted that the Republic of Indonesia is a proven friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it has shown this by providing support during the adoption of the Resolution on July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide in 1995. He also thanked the Republic of Indonesia for financially supporting numerous reconstruction projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was noted that Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Indonesia enjoy very good relations. It was also emphasized that the historical friendship between the two countries represents a good foundation for improving relations in all fields, especially in the field of economy and trade relations. The possibility of further improving cooperation in the field of military industry, tourism and education was pointed out.

It was highlighted that the relations between the two countries should gain new dynamics on the political level and multilateral activities, through concrete economic initiatives, institutional agreements in the fields of energy, education and health, as well as increased cooperation in the field of culture.
