Dr Dragan Čović, Chairman of BiH Presidency, as a high patron, attended the exhibition of paintings of Marin Topić at “Aluminij“ Gallery in Mostar.

Mostar's painter and architect
Marin Topić, a leading name of BiH hyperrealism, by this exhibition of
paintings entitled “The Land of Hum – a painting brush and Christ “ marks four
decades of his artistic work. Around fifty superb paintings of various formats
were presented at the exhibition.
The exhibition was co-organized by
“Aluminij“ Gallery and the Matrix Croatica Mostar, under the high patronage of
Dr Čović, Chairman of BiH Presidency, and with sponsorship support provided by
the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Government (HNK), Aluminij Ltd. Mostar, Croatian
Telecommunications (HT) Eronet, the Electric Power Industry (Elektroprivreda)
of the Croat Community of Herzeg Bosnia (HZBH), the Croatian Post Mostar, the
Faculty of Philosophy, and Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Educational Sciences
(FPMOZ) of the University of Mostar.
After the exhibition, Chairman of
BiH Presidency Dr Čović solemnly opened the 11th Mostar Film festival at the
Croatian Lodge (Hrvatski dom) “Herceg Stjepan Kosača“. After the opening, the
Festival laureates Antun Vrdoljak and Žarko Laušević received life achievement awards
“The tree of love“, a sculpture made by the academic sculptor Ljupko Antunović.
This year's festival was opened by
screening of the movie “Žaba“ (The Frog) directed by Elmir Jukić.
Mostar Film Festival will offer 30
screenings in the following five official programmes: competition,
international – Between the Rivers, documentary - DocuSpectre, student and
children's.
Nine movies will be screened in
the competition programme. The jury composed of experts will select best male,
female and supporting actors, as well as a best new actor.
