4/4/2018

Pursuant to thanking Dr Ivanić, BiH Presidency member for today’s reception and support provided to their work aimed at improving the position of this category of population, the delegation members pointed to some of the numerous problems they were facing on a daily basis.

Satisfaction was expressed due to adoption of the regulations which refer to a simplification of the procedures for procurement of orthopaedic devices and enabling regular spa rehabilitation for amputees, which was the most important progress made in terms of improvement of their position. Moreover, it was stated that there was still much room for a continuation of similar activities.

The association members asked for support in resolving the issues including waiving of motorway fee for using the motorways in Republika Srpska, and underlined that the key problem of this population was the economic sustainability of their families. The most important assistance in that sense would be to ensure support to launching economic activities and self-employment, as well as support to employment of the amputees’ children.

Furthermore, a need was underlined for more intense activities on demining of the remaining mined areas, which were dangerous, in order to pre-empt new victims, as well as on ensuring adequate financing of support and assistance to the mine victims.

BiH Presidency member Dr Ivanić promised his wholehearted support to the activities of the association, and to their continued activities.
