The Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Dragan Čović met with President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović in Zagreb

On this occasion he said that BiH Croats will continue to insist on respect of the constitutional principle of legitimate representation at all administrative political levels in BiH, despite the lack of adoption of the Election Law. He also pointed out that it will be most important to preserve stability, so that the government is formed at soonest and without many hurdles in the post-election period.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Čović informed President Grabar-Kitarović about the current political situation in BiH, as well as the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On this occasion he said that BiH Croats will continue to insist on respect of the constitutional principle of legitimate representation at all administrative political levels in BiH, despite the lack of adoption of the Election Law. He also pointed out that it will be most important to preserve stability, so that the government is formed at soonest and without many hurdles in the post-election period.

Furthermore, he informed the president of the Republic of Croatia about the initiative of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to soon organize a round table on the topic of the UN 2030 Agenda on sustainable development goals with the presidents of the neighbouring states – Republic of Croatia, Republic of Serbia, and Montenegro which are also the 2030 Agenda signatories. This should serve as a further impetus to regional nearing and cooperation. Bosnia and Herzegovina took the 2030 Agenda as an international obligation in 2015. 

At the end of the meeting, President Grabar-Kitarović said that the Republic of Croatia will continue to offer its full support to the internal development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as its progress towards the membership in the European Union and full activation of MAP.
