The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed, with special reference to the process of government forming on all levels after the general elections. Ambassador Reilly particularly pointed out that the United Kingdom supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's efforts towards membership in the European Union and NATO, which will only be possible when the necessary reforms based on the criteria from these two supranational organizations are implemented.

BiH Presidency Member Komšić
particularly emphasized the need to work more actively on the implementation of
14 key priorities from the European Commission Opinion, as an important
prerequisite for opening the negotiation process with the European Union. He
also emphasized the need to work more intensively on obligations from NATO
integration, which includes allocating the necessary budget funds for the defence
segment so that Bosnia and Herzegovina can successfully work on meeting the
necessary NATO standards and criteria.
In this regard, BiH Presidency
Member Komšić thanked the United Kingdom for the continuous support to Bosnia
and Herzegovina with its Euro-Atlantic integration and said he expected that Bosnia
and Herzegovina will be supported in realizing democratic values, principles
and standards that apply in the countries of the western democratic world.
At the end of the meeting,
Ambassador Reilly handed over a letter from the Prime Minister of the United
Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, addressed to BiH Presidency Member Komšić, in which he
congratulated him on his election as a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, wishing him successful work in the new mandate period.
