Member of BiH Presidency Dr Denis Bećirović attended the SPD of Germany Congress and spoke with the SPD President Lars Klingbeil in Berlin

At the invitation of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), member of the Presidency of BiH and vice-president of the SDP of BiH Dr Denis Bećirović attended the SPD Congress in Berlin. Besides Dr Bećirović, the Congress of the SPD of Germany was attended by numerous leaders from Europe and the world, including the president of the Socialist International and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain, Pedro Sánchez

On that occasion, Bećirović spoke with the president of the SPD, Lars Klingbeil, who thanked Dr Bećirović for accepting the invitation to attend the Congress of the SPD as a guest, as well as for the cooperation so far.

Dr Denis Bećirović emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with the largest social democratic party in Europe and the strategic connection of Bosnian and German social democracy. According to Bećirović, a strong and well-organized social democracy is the guarantor of a stable and democratic Europe in which the human rights and basic freedoms of all its inhabitants are respected.

BiH Presidency member Bećirović thanked the SPD President Lars Klingbeil for his open and strong support during the 2022 election campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He said that Chancellor Scholz's message is extremely important, especially for the Southeast Europe, that it should be clear to everyone that borders in Europe must no longer be changed by force.

The interlocutors also emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz also addressed those present at the SPD Congress. Chancellor Scholz spoke about Germany's foreign and security policy, the main global challenges, as well as the guidelines for the European Parliament elections in 2024.

At the Congress of the SPD of Germany, the election of party leaders is discussed, and guidelines for the modernization of the Federal Republic of Germany are profiled in view of the new challenges that this country and Europe are facing. It is planned to pass resolutions on foreign and security policy, as well as economic and educational policy.
